The “one cheek rule” permits players to shift their position slightly to the left or right as long as at least one cheek remains in contact with the chair. This ensures that players maintain proper seating while adjusting their angle or perspective during gameplay. Furthermore, all four legs of the chair must stay firmly on the floor, prohibiting any tilting or lifting of the chair for an unfair advantage. For instance, various seated positions are allowed, but a position where neither cheek is in contact with the seat—such as the fourth position on the right in the example—is not permitted.
Players are allowed to leave their chair under specific circumstances: to retrieve a disc that has fallen to the floor or to gain an overhead view of the playing surface for strategic assessment. However, it is mandatory to return to the original chair position before taking a shot. While executing a shot, both feet must be in contact with the floor to ensure stability and adherence to the rules.
